Thursday we spent the day in Naples touring luxury neighborhoods and properties.
From Bay Colony to Pelican Bay to Historic and Downtown Naples, to Port Royal, we viewed exquisite listings and amenity-rich communities. The density is not as crowded as one might think, either. The county has set aside large green spaces and protected the estuaries from over construction. Residents of Naples are very community-conscientious and all give back to their community, which is what makes Collier County one of the wealthiest and most enriched counties in Florida.
Naples sports some of the best deep-water property on the southwestern Florida Gulf coast that has the benefit of both beach access and mooring capacity for 100+ foot yachts. One Bay Colony tower has on-call concierge service presented by the Ritz-Carlton of Naples. Historic downtown has an incredible fine arts and cultural center, and Naples is one of the hottest destinations for fine art displays and shows. The shopping is also fantastic, with some of the highest-grossing boutique stores in the country including Saks, Cartier, Tommy Bahama, and oh, the list goes ON! Shopaholics, hide your credit cards.
For those that prefer some rustic entertainment, there's a zoo and State Parks to enjoy with kayaking and hiking. The beaches are always a favorite, and yachting clubs cater to a little outdoor luxury downtime. Care to explore history? Try the Palm Cottage historic site or one of three Collier County Museums.
The vast array of architectural style is impressive in Naples. Styles are endless from Key West to French Provencial to Colonial to Mediterranean Influence to Contemporary and Modern. Old Florida block homes, set back on large manicured city lots contrasted with grand estate compounds and completely renovated and modernized historic retreats. Entire neighborhoods of fairly new construction made obvious the construction trend towards large and eloquent homes. Most older buildings have had an interior and exterior face lift, giving the entire coastal portion of the city a brand new shine and elegance, making this city a preferred destination for wealthy socialites.
Only about an hour and 45 minutes from Boca Grande, Naples has much to offer. When comparing the real estate, Naples has homes similar to what you find out here on Gasparilla Island, just on a larger scale. With such a vast area compared to our small island, there is much more to choose from. My agent for Naples tells me that she often finds people with sticker shock when she begins to share property information with possible new residents. Boca Grande homes can look like a bargain compared to what is listed there.
The type of home owner in Naples is looking for a city lifestyle, where every service is at your disposal. They tend to prefer a more outward expression of their wealth and enjoy exposure in the social scene. Naples residents are extremely philanthrophic. Fundraisers in Naples have been known to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in just a few short hours.
Naples contrasts to Boca Grande in many ways, and I understand that my Gasparilla Island lifestyle may not be right for all of you. If you find that you are thinking about a home or condo in Naples, please let me know. I have an amazing and accomplished associate broker who I would love to put you in touch with.
