The Ladies Night Out – Howl at the Moon tarpon tournament was a blast with tons of cash and prizes. Teams of 4 lady anglers filled the Pass; 20 boats in all. Our boat, The Salty Cracker, was beat out of any placement positions, but we had a fantastic time. The Boca Blue won the tournament with the captain’s wife catching the first fish of the night. Have you caught tarpon fever yet? If you have never come to visit Boca Grande during this crazy time of year, I highly recommend it. Once a giant Silver King pulls your line down like you just hooked a Volkswagen, you’ll be a devoted angler during season each year. I should know – I have been for the last 10 years – and my father has been a captain here for about 30 years!
