Cracker Classic Fishing Tournament

This past week I participated in the Cracker Classic Fishing Tournament in Marathon (Florida Keys). It's a Florida Cracker-inspired event (I am a 5th generation native Floridian) geared toward catching big Mahi Mahi. Our all-women team competed hard against mixed mens teams to place 4th overall. Our boat caught over 70 dolphin in 4 days, and released several more. Some of our fish were 18 to 24 pounds (the world record was caught in Cabo San Lucas and weighed 90 pounds). The largest fish, a 56+ pounder, was caught by another boat in the event.

It was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to go again! If you love the salt life as much as I do, give me a call and we'll talk about local fishing and boating pursuits.
